Alien Time!

So back in September I worked on a little film entitled “Grey Skies”, this being my first feature film that I operated. Despite the incredibly small crew, living in a trailer for 3 weeks and having no internet and very limited cell service i will say that this was a wonderful experience.

Gavin Fisher (DP), Michael Cornacchia (producer/actor) & Mark Reily (writer/producer) are for me what made this experience great. now, i know that my IMDB credits are 1) not impressive & 2) not very long and along with that, until recently my Star Rating was on the decline, but even with all of that working against me, these guys took me as a professional and never once second guessed my abilities but rather took an unknown operator and wanted to test his abilities. not only was i just operating but Steadicam Operator and was able to shoot some areal photography at top stick of an 80’ condor.

the people that really made this project great were a one, Kevin Parson the production designer who was able to single handedly transform this home in the woods to a beautiful getaway retreat. the other being Jeremy Wesly who boomed and mixed the film. He and I were tethered together for 3 weeks which could have been terrible if he wasn’t such a professional. this was a great man to work with. besides enjoying these two men professionally, off set we spent the nights tearing down trees to build bonfires, which was a great way to bring together the crew after a long day of work.

with all that mooshieness behind me now, i just want to say that i think this project will be a lot of fun and should be given a chance, who doesn’t like B-horror movies. oh yeah, in case you didn’t get it, its an alien movie. check it out
